Dear  Denise,

Last week we began our Ten Days for Change campaign to reach 850 total donations

and 100 new volunteers.  A few moments ago we reached our goal of 850 donations but

together we've surpassed it a full four days before Monday's midnight reporting deadline.

At this moment we have 872 total contributions.

Think about that for a moment.

Almost 900 contributions from people like you who have a voice and own a part of a

grassroots campaign that is not just competing, but flourishing, in a political environment

that has been dominated by political machines and special interests for far too long.

You've given your time, your passion and whatever you can afford to bring about real

change here in New Orleans.

I think you'd agree it's working.

Earlier this week I unveiled a 5 Part Action plan to get New Orleans Working... NOW-

not by the end of my first term or my first year, but by the end of my first week in office.

It's going to take someone with the right ideas and the ability to take action right away

to get us moving in the right direction.

I can't thank you enough for all that you've done, but there are still many who simply

don't think New Orleans is ready for real change.  It's understandable given our recent

political history.

Right now, we have an opportunity to show those people that the change we need is

possible... that we don't have to settle for the same old politicians trying to convince

us that they are something they're not.

In fact, just yesterday a lifelong Republican multi-millionaire, and his checkbook,

entered the race but announced he has become a Democrat simply to increase his

chances of winning because, as his senior adviser put it, being a Democrat is "more in

the line with the community."

That's just New Orleans politics as usual and it's exactly what our city doesn't need in

its next Mayor.

That's why, today, we are committing ourselves to a new goal: One thousand donations

before midnight on November 9th.

We want to send a message to people who think New Orleans can't move forward by

announcing on Monday that our campaign is built upon 1,000 donations from regular

people just like you.

Will you donate $5, $10, $25, or $50 right now?

Thank you for your continued support.

sig
